For Administrators

As an administrator, you are responsible for the initial creation and configuration of the connection, as well as for inviting drivers to your company’s ChargePoint connection and approving their access requests.

For detailed setup instructions, log into your ChargePoint administrator account and refer to the following resources: Standard Connections Guide for standard connections, or DMS Connections Guide for DMS connections.

To enable drivers to create an account using ChargePoint connections, complete the following steps:

  1. Share the invitation link or QR code with your drivers, once you have created your connection. This link or QR code can be distributed via email, internal communication channels, or printed materials. When a driver clicks the link or scans the code, they will be redirected to the ChargePoint registration page.

The use of the invitation link or QR code is required when registering new ChargePoint driver accounts. Connection codes may continue to be used if the driver is already a member of any connection. Please replace your published connection codes with the invitation links or QR codes where necessary.
The ChargePoint app must not be installed on the diver's device before signing up for a new connection. If the app is already installed, please uninstall it first and then follow the sign-up steps below. You will be prompted to download the app after completing your registration.
  2. Approve the connection requests raised by drivers.

If you have configured manual approval for the connection, you will receive a notification when a driver has completed registration and submitted a connection request. Review and approve the request in your ChargePoint admin portal as usual.

Drivers must be approved within 14 days; otherwise, the request will be declined and the driver will need to re-register.
  3. Monitor the connection status of drivers using the portal.

You can track all pending and active connections in your admin portal. Approved drivers appear as Active; drivers awaiting approval appear as Pending.
