Get a Valid ChargePoint API Account

If your organization owns ChargePoint charging stations, then it will have a service plan and a Network Manager account with access to the ChargePoint Platform APIs. To set up other users who can access the APIs, your Network Manager needs to do the following:

1. Log in to ChargePoint Platform.

2. Navigate to Organizations > Admins.

3. Click New Admin.

4. The Organization field contains your organization and it cannot be edited.

5. Enter the First Name and Last Name of your new API user.

6. Enter a unique Email address to identify your new API user.

7. From the Role drop-down, select API User.

8. Click Add New Admin.

   The new administrator (in this case “API User”) then receives an email from ChargePoint Platform with a link used to finish setting up the new user account.

9. When the account is set up, the new API user can log in and navigate to Help > API Docs.
