Create Energy Groups

To create energy management groups, complete the following steps:

  1. Log in to the ChargePoint Platform and navigate to Energy Management > Energy Groups.

  2. Click Create new and enter the following details:

    Energy Groups

    Field Name

    Description

    Select assets

    Select Parent Energy Group

    Assign energy group to another group by selecting a parent energy group from the drop-down list.

    Note: Assign a parent energy group only if you the newly created group is meant to be a child group.

    Add Assets to Energy Group

    Select the chargers or existing energy groups you would like to be part of this new energy group and click Next.

    You can search for assets using the station name or the station ID.

    Note: You can select multiple station at the same time.

    Configuration parameters

    Group name

    		 Enter a name for the energy group.

    Description

    		 Enter a description for the energy group.

    Managed variable

    Select one of the following variables to define limitation:

    • Total power (kW) over all phases, e.g., on Transformer or Site level (Default)

    • Current (Amps) per phase, e.g., Circuit, Panel or Breaker level

    Load Sharing Policy

    Select one of the following load sharing policies to configure how power will be shared between the active sessions:

    • Proportionally equally shared (default)

    • First come, First charged

    Limit

    Specify the current ceiling for the energy group in kW by clicking the - and + buttons. The minimum value is 0 kW.

  3. Click Submit to create the energy group.

  4. Click Cancel to discard the changes.

Stations and parameters can be changed at any point in time.
