Blocks

In ChargePoint, a block refers to a defined transit service. A block defines where, when and how the vehicle will be driven. The schedule defines where the vehicle will start and finish it's task.

The block schedule can have multiple scheduled blocks per route and be assigned per vehicle per day. It requires information about the vehicle, route date (departure time and days), departure location, and distance to be driven. The advantage of this approach is that it provides you a maximum cost-optimization and resource allocation, but it requires some manual administration work or system integration. Refer to the following rules for block assignments:

  • A vehicle can be assigned to one or more blocks.

  • Assigned blocks can not overlap with one another.

  • Blocks can be assigned up to one week in advance.

  • Block assignments can be removed from a vehicle to re-assign the block or vehicle.

  • A block can be added to a vehicle after the block’s departure time.

  • Blocks will only be available for an assignment based on the following conditions:

    • If the block is enabled.

    • On the days of the week of the block’s recurrence. For example, blocks scheduled for Mondays will only be available for assignment on Mondays.

    • If the block is within its active date range.
