Fleet Fraud Detection

The Fleet Fraud Detection tab allows you to monitor and filter potential fraudulent activities within your fleet operations.

To access the Fleet Fraud Detection tab, log in to ChargePoint Platform and navigate to Fleets > Manage > Fleet Fraud Detection.

Use the Show/Hide Columns option to customize the fields that appear in the report.

The table below outlines the available columns you can include in the Fleet Fraud Detection tab.

Fleet Fraud Detection

Filter Name

Description

ChargePoint Card S/N

Filters records based on the ChargePoint card serial number used in the transaction, useful for tracking unauthorized card use.

Computed Distance (m)

Filters records by the system-calculated travel distance between plug-in and plug-out locations, helping detect anomalies in reported vs. actual movement.

Current State

Filters by the vehicle’s current operating state.

Event

Filters by specific types of fleet activity events (for example, Session Start, Session End) to isolate suspicious actions.

Event Timestamp (Pacific Time)

Filters data by the exact time of the event, used to identify transactions outside expected hours.

Fee

Filters based on the fee charged for a session—useful in identifying unexpected costs or billing issues.

Fleet Name

Filters by the name of the fleet, helping narrow down fraud checks within a particular fleet.

License Plate

Filters by vehicle license plate, helping detect mismatched vehicle identities.

Log Timestamp (Pacific Time)

Filters by the backend system’s logged time.

Observation

Filters by anomaly descriptions or system-generated flags, ideal for quickly reviewing suspected fraud cases.

Org Name

Filters by the organization the fleet belongs to, for group-specific fraud analysis.

Port No.

Filters by the EVSE (charging station) port used helps to identify possible port misuse.

Recommended Action

Filters by system-suggested next steps (for example, Review, Block Card) for suspected fraud incidents.

Session ID

Filters by the unique session identifier, critical for reviewing specific charging sessions.

Station Energy

Filters based on the total energy consumed during the session, helping flag unusually high or low consumption.

Station Lat

Filters by the latitude of the charging station, useful for geographic correlation of vehicle activity.

Station Lon

Filters by the longitude of the charging station, paired with latitude to detect location fraud.

Station Name

Filters by the name of the station that helps to isolate sessions from unfamiliar or suspicious locations.

Station Power

Filters by power delivered at the station, used to detect inconsistencies in power draw.

Telematics Device ID

Filters by the specific ID of the vehicle’s telematics unit, useful for identifying spoofed or missing devices.

Telematics Is_Charging

Filters whether the vehicle was reported as charging, helping detect mismatches between vehicle and station data.

Telematics Lat

Filters based on vehicle GPS latitude, used to confirm if the vehicle was near the station.

Telematics Lon

Filters based on vehicle GPS longitude. Pairs with latitude for geo-fencing validation.

Telematics Power

Filters the power draw as reported by the vehicle, useful in identifying differences from station-reported data.

Telematics Provider

Filters by the third-party provider of vehicle telematics data. Useful when comparing data quality or discrepancies.

Telematics Timestamp (Pacific Time)

Filters by the time the vehicle telematics data was captured and used to sync with event timestamps.

Transaction ID

Filters by the transaction ID, which is useful when comparing billing or investigating a specific charge.

Vehicle VIN

Filters by vehicle identification number essential for verifying vehicle identity in fraud detection.

You can apply multiple filters to narrow down the data. Select the Add Filter button to include additional fields. Select Contains/Does Not Contain/Is from the drop-down list. Select Match all or Match any radio button. Click Apply Filters to take into consideration the selection made in the filter and generate the report.

Click the Export button to download the data for analysis, auditing, troubleshooting, or compliance tracking.

Export (visible columns): Exports only the fields selected in the Show/Hide Columns.

Export (all columns): Exports all connection data fields, regardless of visibility.
