Activate Station

ChargePoint Platform enables station hosts to activate single or multiple stations directly using CMS Suite. Station activation is made seamless whether it’s a first-time activation, expansion of an existing site, or a multi-station deployment.

You can activate stations after adding a charging station. To activate a station, complete the following steps:

  1. Log in to the ChargePoint Platform.

  2. Navigate to Charger Management > Stations > Activate stations.

    The Stations tab displays a pop-up when there are stations to be activated. Click the Activate stations button and be automatically navigated to the Activate Stations tab.

    (or)

    Alternatively you can also navigate to Charger Management > Activate Stations. This tab lists all the inactive stations that are added as part of an organization.

  3. Navigate through the list and select one or multiple stations part of a single station group to be activated.

    Stations are grouped based on their Site Address and Model Family.

  4. Click Activate and enter the following information:

    Org information, Cloud Plan & Policies

    Usage category

    Specify the usage category for the charging station from the following options:

    • Commercial with restricted access

    • Commercial with unrestricted access

    • Multi-family residential

    • Single-family residential

    • Public

    Customer category Specify the customer category from the drop-down menu.
    Customer sub category Specify the customer sub category from the drop-down menu.

    Cloud plan

    • Select either the Commercial Plan or CPA Plan

    • Specify the duration of the plan.

    Note: Commercial plan is the default plan.

    Warranties & Support Plan

    Select one of the following options and specify the plan duration:

    • Assure Pro plan

    • None

    Policies

    Update the following drop-down menus:

    • Usable By

    • Visible to

    • Pricing Policy

    Session Limit Select the Session Limit from the drop-down.

    Energy Management

    Select Set up later to set up energy management for the station post-activation.

  5. Click Next.

  6. If available, select the required option on the Energy Management page and click Next.

  7. Review the station details in the Summary page.

  8. Click Edit details if you want to modify the station information. For detailed instructions, see Edit Station Details.

  9. Click Finish to complete the process and activate the station.
