Create Driver Group

To create a new driver group, complete the following steps:

Click the question mark symbol next to any item for more information.

  1. Log in to ChargePoint Platform.

  2. Navigate to Driver Management > Driver Groups > Create driver group.

  3. Enter the following information:

    Field Description

    Organization

    Select the organization associated with the group from the drop-down list.

    Group name

    Enter a unique name for the new driver group. You can also select a name from the drop-down list.

    Description

    Provide a description for the driver group.

    Allow drivers to join this group on request

    Enable this toggle to allow drivers to join your group. Drivers can request to join this group from their ChargePoint account in the mobile app or browser and you can approve or deny requests.

    Status

    Select one of the following options:

    • Enable: Select this option to allow drivers to join this group.

    • Disable: Select this option to restrict drivers from joining the group. Drivers that are already part of this group, will stay in this group when the status is set to Disable.

    Group request approval type

    Select one of the following options to manage your driver group requests:

    • Automatically approve all: Select this option to allow the ChargePoint system to automatically approve incoming requests from all drivers.

    • Automatically approve by email domain: Select this option to automatically approve requests from drivers whose email domain matches the allowed list after they confirm ownership via a verification email. Requests from other domains or unverified addresses must be approved manually.

    • Manually approve: Select this option to manually review all incoming requests from drivers.

    Group visibility

    Manage who can see your driver group and send requests to join. Select one of the following options:

    • Public: Drivers can look up your driver group using the organization name.

    • Hidden: Only drivers who have access to the group's search code can find this group.

      Enter a code for your driver group in the Search code field. Drivers will use this code to access your driver group.

      Drivers must enter this code in the ChargePoint app to find the group and request to join this hidden group.

    What drivers provide when requesting to connect

    Manage and customize the details that drivers need to provide while requesting to join your driver group.

    • Select a category that best represents your organization: Select a category from the drop-down list to represent your organization.

    • Driver details to request: Specify the type of information you want your drivers to provide while joining the group. For example, First Name, Last Name, Driver A/C Number etc. Click + Add to add fields and X to remove fields.

    • Eligible drivers: Specify who can connect with your organization. Example: All All EV drivers or Employees only. Use this option to manage accessibility.

    • Driver group member benefits: Enter the benefits offered by your organization for connected drivers. You can also select benefits from the drop-down list.

    Advanced Settings

    Company logo

    A default logo is automatically added. Replace the logo anytime. Click Replace logo and upload the image in the following formats:

    • .jif

    • .png

    • .jpg

    The image must be 60 x 30 pixels and the image size cannot be larger than 0.5 MB.

    Send notification when driver connects

    Enable this toggle button to be notified when a driver joins your group.

    Custom terms and conditions

    Customize and manage the terms and conditions for your driver group.

    • Send signed terms and conditions to the following email address: Enter the email address to which signed terms and conditions will be sent to.

    • Terms and conditions: Enter the terms and conditions for drivers who will be joining your group.

      Use only plain text (ASCII) in the Terms and Conditions box. Do not include HTML or any other markup language.

  4. Click Create to confirm the changes and Cancel to discard the changes.

  5. Click Preview to verify the form.

The new driver group is now created and listed under the Driver Groups tab.
