Tariff

ChargePoint offers flexible, configurable tariff structures for fleets designed to reduce operating costs through smart, time-of-use (TOU) optimization and energy management.

To set up Tariff, complete the following steps:

  1. Log into ChargePoint Platform and navigate to Fleet Operations > Depots > Tariff.

  2. Click + Set up Tariff to configure tariff values for your depot.

  3. Enter the following information:

    Basic Information

    Tariff plan name

    Enter a name for the tariff plan.

    Contract start date

    Click the icon and enter a start date for the tariff contract.

    Contract end date

    Click the icon and enter a end date for the tariff contract.

    Tariff type

    Select one of the following Tariff types.

    • Fixed Rate

    • Time of Use

    Fixed Rate

    Fee per kWh

    Set up flat rate for your fleets. Fixed rate will not have day or seasonal variations.

    Enter your fee per kWh.

    Time of Use

    Time of Use (TOU) is used to inform ChargePoint about your energy's peak and off-peak cost periods. This data allows the system to optimize charging sessions, ensuring your fleet operates at the lowest possible cost. Enter the following information to set up dynamic tariff based on time of use.

    Assign tariff to a season

    Season name

    Enter the season name.

    Months

    Specify the months that will be a part of the configured season.

    Select Days

    Starts on/Ends on

    Select days in this season to assign tariff. Specify the beginning and end days for the tariff.

    From/To

    Specify the time.

    Assign traffic

    Start time/End time

    Specify the start and end time for the tariff.

    Tariff

    Enter the rate per kWh.

    Period Type

    Select the period type from the drop-down list.

  4. Click Create to set up tariff.
