Create Waitlist Policies

To create a waitlist policy, configure the following steps:

  1. Log in to ChargePoint Platform.

  2. Navigate to Waitlist Management > Waitlist Policies.

  3. Click  + Create Waitlist Policy.

  4. Enter the following information and click Next.

    Description

    Basic information

    Policy name

    Enter a name for the waitlist policy.

    Organization

    Select your organization from the drop-down list.

    Description

    (Optional) Enter a description for the waitlist policy.

    Queuing configuration

    Port allocation schedule

    Specify the port allocation schedule configured for the waitlist policy.

    The default schedule is 24x7. You can also add a specific schedule.

    Configure the following parameters:

    • Select days: Select one of the following options.

      • All days of the weak: Select this option to configure the waitlist policy throughout the week.

      • Specific days: Select this option and specify select days in a week. Check days of the week to customize access and availability.

    • All day: Enable this toggle to allow drivers to join the waitlist anytime during the day. Disable this toggle and specify From and To time to restrict access.

    • Allow drivers to get in line before port allocation schedule begins: Check this option to allow drivers to join a queue before the port allocation schedule begins.

    Local queuing

    Enable local queuing to allow drivers to join the waitlist by physically tapping on the station with RFID or mobile device.

    Configure the following to set up local queuing:

    • Drivers can join waitlist for stations within: Specify the distance within which drivers can join the queue. Hold and drag to the bar to set the limit. The maximum distance is 2,500 ft.

    • Allow drivers to join waitlist for stations in the same waitlist policy only: Check this option to allow drivers to join a waitlist queue for stations in the same waitlist policy.

    Remote queuing

    Enable remote queuing to allow drivers to join the waitlist through mobile app or web.

    Driver Journey

    Time to respond

    Define the time a driver has to respond (Accept, Snooze or Remove) when notified of their turn. The driver will be auto-snoozed if he/she does not respond within this time.

    Maximum snooze

    Define the maximum number of snoozes the driver gets before the driver is automatically removed from a waitlist.

    Time from accepting spot to plug in (minutes)

    Define the maximum time a driver has to plug in their vehicle after accepting a notification that a charging spot is available.

    Driver is expected to move vehicle within (minutes)

    Define the time limit after which the driver is expected to move the vehicle.

    Notify driver

    Specify one of the following settings to notify drivers:

    • At all times

    • When someone is on the waitlist

  5. Click Finish to finalize and create the waitlist policy.
