Enter the following information:
-
Power Sharing Policy: This policy allows multiple EVs to charge concurrently using a shared power supply without exceeding the site's electrical capacity. It utilizes customizable algorithms to distribute power intelligently among charging stations, ensuring all cars charge as fast as possible while preventing overload. You canconfigure the power sharing type by selecting one of the following options from the drop-down list:
-
Equal Share: Ensures that all the vehicles charge at the same rate regardless of who plugged in first. When this policy is set across a mix of AC and DC stations, the power will be reduced proportionally based on the station’s rated power and total power limit. For example, AC stations rated for 6.6 kW and DC stations rated for 62.5 kW with a total limit of 69 kW will drop to 45.2 kW and 4.8 kW when the limit is set to 50 kW. This policy is recommended for any driver using public installation.
-
First In First Serve (FIFS): Prioritizes power distribution based on the order of connection. Vehicles plugged in earlier will receive the required power, while those connected later may receive less.
-
-
Share Power At: Specifies how power sharing between charging stations is managed. You can configure power allocation by selecting one of the following options from the drop-down list:
-
Circuit/Panel Level: Shares power among charging stations connected to the same circuit or panel. This is useful when a panel has limited capacity and power needs to be distributed across multiple stations.
-
Site/Transformer Level: Shares power across all charging stations at a site or transformer. This helps manage the total load when the site's overall power capacity is limited.
-
-
Power Ceiling for Power Sharing Group: Enter the maximum power ceiling you want shared across all the stations in this energy group. For example, if you set a value of 50 kW, the combined instantaneous power for this group will never exceed 50 kW.
