Remote Stop Charging

Remote Stop Charging allows drivers to stop an ongoing charging session remotely providing flexibility and control for the driver. It enables users to manage charging sessions without being physically present at the charging station. It can also be used to prevent overcharging and to manage charging costs. When a user initiates a remote stop, the charging process is halted, but the session may not end until certain conditions are met, such as unplugging the vehicle or a negative vehicle detection.

It is supported by various protocols and systems, such as OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol), which enables charging stations be remotely controlled. The implementation of remote stop functionality may vary depending on the charging station's configuration and the communication protocols used. For example, in some systems, a session is only considered stopped when the connector is unplugged.

To access the Remote Stop Charging tab, log in to ChargePoint Platform and navigate to Stations > Remote Stop Charging.
