Activate New Station

When a new station is installed at your property, activate the station to connect to the ChargePoint network. Connecting the station to the ChargePoint network allows you to configure and manage the station remotely via ChargePoint Platform.

Your charging station may be subject to government regulations; please check regulations in your region to ensure compliance.

To activate a station, you must purchase a Cloud Plan. When you purchase a Cloud Plan, a token is uploaded as a proof of purchase to your ChargePoint account. You can redeem the token against a suitable station to apply the purchased Cloud Plan to a station. The following tokens are available for you to redeem:

  • Port Tokens: These tokens are ChargePoint network Cloud Plans that include Corporate, Commercial, and Enterprise.

  • Station Tokens: These tokens are station upgrade Cloud Plans that include upgrading maximum power capacity from 50 to 62.5 kW/hr.

  • Service Tokens: These tokens are station service Cloud Plans that include Station Management Service. It includes station maintenance, management, pricing, access, etc.

  • Warranty Tokens: These tokens are additional warranties such as Extended Warranty, ChargePointAssure) etc.

  • Organization Tokens:These tokens are organization upgrade Cloud Plans that provide organization management.

You need a port token to activate a station. Two port tokens are required for dual-port stations and one port token for single-port stations.

After activation, you can find the station in your organization's ChargePoint account and configure it according to your organization's requirements.
