Lower Fan Tray

This section provides instructions for replacing the lower fan tray in the Power Block.

Required Tools and Materials

T25 Torx screwdriver

Before You Begin

Before servicing the component, complete the following steps:

  1. Power off.

  2. Remove front upper, mid, and lower panels.

  3. Remove front door.

  4. Remove lower heat exchanger.

AFTER REPLACING THE COMPONENTS, REVERSE THE ABOVE STEPS TO COMPLETE THE SERVICE.

Replace the Lower Fan Tray

  1. Remove the screws (x5). If necessary, use T25 Torx screwdriver.

    Torque these screws to 10 Nm (88.5 in-lb) when reinstalling.

    Remove the five screws. If necessary, use T25 Torx screwdriver.

  2. Remove any gasket residue on the heat exchanger and clean the fan installation surface with isopropyl wipes. If necessary, scrape off the gasket residue.

Reverse the above steps to reinstall with replacement FRUClosed Field Replaceable Unit.

While reinstalling, align and seat the fan tray using the alignment pins.
