Rear Fan Tray

This topic provides information on replacing the rear fan tray.

Before You Begin

Complete the following steps, before you begin:

  1. Power off the charging station.

  2. Determine if the Power Link 1000 has preassembled covers or unassembled components, remove them as necessary.

  3. Open the upper door.

  4. Remove the DC smart cable bus bar safety cover.

  5. Remove the L shaped bus bar safety cover.

  6. Remove top access panel.

    1. Position a stepladder so you can reach the top access panel.

    2. Loosen captive screws and lift off the panel.

      Loosen captive screws and lift off the panel.

  7. Remove DC smart cable.

  8. Remove contactor box.

AFTER REPLACING, REVERSE THE ABOVE STEPS TO COMPLETE THE SERVICE.

Replace Rear Fan Tray

To replace the rear fan tray, complete the following steps:

  1. Disconnect the connectors (x2) (at right, for fan power and temperature sensor).

    Disconnect the two connectors at the right, for fan power and temperature sensor

  2. Remove the M5 screws (x4) (use T25 security screwdriver).

    While reinstalling torque the screws to 2.8 Nm (25 in-lb).

    Remove the M5 screws (x4) (use T25 security screwdriver). While reinstalling torque the screws to 2.8 Nm or 25 in-lb

  3. Lift the fan tray slightly up off the brackets on the back. Then move it straight out of the cabinet.

A sensor is attached horizontally to the upper back of the fan tray.
To avoid damaging the sensor behind the fan tray, do not touch the upper back of the fan tray to any other surface or part.

REVERSE THE ABOVE STEPS TO REINSTALL.
