Install the CCS1 Holster Shroud
When using the Express 250, some drivers lift straight up on the CCS1 charging handle to disengage it from the station. This can break the locking clip, which is not repairable. Add a shroud to the front of the holster to prevent movement upward and require the driver to pull the handle straight out.
-
Identify the CCS1 handle, usually the handle in the top position. Remove the handle and set it down on a padded surface.
-
Before removing the shroud’s backing, hold the shroud up to the station to test fit its alignment. Ensure:
-
The shroud’s flat edge rests against the holster’s vertical face all the way around, with the thicker edge at the top (a).
-
The shroud’s outer edge does not obscure the light ring (b).
-
The shroud’s inner edge does not interfere with the holster’s inner bevel (c).
-
-
Clean the front surface and inside edges of the CCS1 holster with a paper towel or clean cloth, then with an isopropyl wipe, to remove all dust and dirt. Dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
-
Peel off the shroud’s adhesive backing.
-
Carefully align the shroud as described above and seat it on the holster. Push down firmly on the shroud (15 PSI of force) for at least 15 seconds to set the adhesive.
-
Replace the CCS1 charging handle in the holster. Test that the CCS1 charging handle is easily removed and replaced.
